This is a video describing a common problem with an APC XS 900 back up power supply. The problem starts with your supply having an overload alarm. You reset it and it comes back after a minute or so. Replacing the battery will not fix it as the problem is related to the internal fan not spinning like a new fan. The fan still spins but there is some friction inside and this causes the CPU to think there is a problem and gives the alarm on the UPS supply.

Many Acer users complain about the notebooks shutting down unexpected. This happens when the CPU gets to hot, to protect the CPU from burning. The problem with the Acer Notebooks is that when the notebook goes to Sleep or Standby mode, the fan does not wake up anymore after waking up the notebook. It moslty happens after a fresh installation of Windows or uninstalling the Acer Software that comes with your new Notbook/Laptop. Like the ePower and eFramework which control the power and also the CPU-Fan of your Notebook. Note: This only helps if your fan is not broken or blocked by dust !
